Theses on Kurdistan – A Marxist-Leninist Framework

Introduction We believe there has long been a need for a simple, and relatively concise summary of the Kurdistan national struggle, from a Marxist-Leninist perspective. No doubt, the need for such an urgent appraisal is made more acute by the Syrian Civil War, and its aftermath. Confusion about the state of Rojava is common. But when Rojava is dealt with in isolation, the results seem inadequate. This usually reflects the absence of a wider picture of Kurdistan. This article was published in the February 1994 edition of Compass: Theoretical Journal of the Communist League. This piece features an overview of the events leading up to Trotsky’s death in 1940, as well as a summary of the events that followed. Recent Writings of “Revolutionary Democracy” on the British Road to Socialism

Introduction The overall research programme of the Indian journal – Revolutionary Democracy (RD) – has been valuable to the Marxist-Leninist movement. This research programme can be summarized as unearthing hitherto unpublished articles and letters of Stalin, and of the workers movement. This is an important and major endeavour. Through their relationship with several sources within the former USSR, the editors have brought several new writings to the movement. We focus here upon a recent compilation of documents from the Soviet Archives, and an editorial from Revolutionary Democracy.
